Very few or no marks on the topline (for woods) or face. Light cosmetic marks on the head/crown (for woods). General play marks on the face and sole but well-maintained with no chips or dents.
Steel shafts may have light cosmetic wear but no rust. Graphite shafts may show minor scratches and wear to graphics, without any bag rub.
Grips are in good condition with little to no visible wear.

In good overall condition with some cosmetic wear.
Marks on the topline and head/crown (for woods), including faint sky marks. Irons may show wear to faces/grooves and heads, with small stone chips. Putters may have minor marks on the face/head, including small chips on the sole and typical wear from normal use.
Shafts are still in good condition, but with cosmetic wear. Steel shafts may have small marks or signs of rust. Graphite shafts could show light bag wear.
Grips are still functional but may show some wear, with slight loss of tackiness.

Still playable, but shows heavy signs of wear.
Significant marks on the topline and head/crown (for woods), including deep sky marks. Faces/grooves have noticeable wear, with larger stone chips or dents on the head.
Shafts remain functional but show heavy signs of use. Steel shafts may have considerable rust or pitting. Graphite shafts show heavy bag wear.
Grips may have depressions, splits, or other signs of wear and will likely need replacing soon.

Not in a usable condition due to excessive damage.
Severe damage marks, cracks, or rattling in the head. Extensive wear to the faces, including large stone chips or dents. Missing brand badges, weights, or ferrules.
Shafts show extreme signs of wear, with steel shafts having major rust or pitting corrosion. All shafts in a set must match by type and flex, and no clubs should be missing (e.g., missing a 7 iron).
Grips are in poor condition and require immediate replacement.
