What do DHC and EBS mean?

You may have seen that some trolleys have come letters after their model name such as DHC or EBS. These are optional extras that signify an incredibly useful automatic braking system. Motocaddy uses DHC (Down Hill Control) whilst Powakaddy uses EBS (Electronic Braking System) and whilst they are called different names, they are the same in terms of functionality. It is a feature that I believe to be worthy of consideration at just £50.00 more, especially if you often play on particularly undulating golf courses. Both systems regulate the speed of the trolley when going down any sort of hill. Without this feature, electric trolleys need to be held back as you walk down hills and this can prove to be an arduous task, especially on steeper slopes.

With DHC or EBS, the trolley will not speed up and remains at the speed selected on the dial, allowing you to simply guide its direction as you negotiate the slope. This function is also useful when you stop to play a shot as it also acts as a brake, preventing the trolley from rolling off into streams and ponds whilst you are busy admiring a perfectly struck iron shot. I have this feature on my trolley and although I was initially skeptical of its usefulness, I can honestly say I would now never be without it.
