When the green is above you, particularly when pitching or chipping, it's very easy to leave the ball short. Seemingly no matter how hard you think you have hit it, it's tough to get ball pin high.
What's the trick?
Well, one thing that can help avoid this happening, is to try and picture the ball landing on top of the flagstick and imagine the ball coming down vertically. Rather than aiming for the hole, aim for the top of the flag.
You will be quite surprised at first just how hard you have to hit the ball but it will do wonders for getting the ball all the way back to the hole. You have to be nice and aggressive through the impact area when playing this type of shot as the ball won't go nearly as far playing uphill.
Hopefully you'll become so good that the ball will start zipping around the flag! I can almost hear the roar of the gallery now!
