TAYLORMADE DRIVERS AND FAIRWAY WOODS
TaylorMade Golf was formed in 1979 by Gary Adams when he produced the first ever metal headed wood and since that date the company has become well established as one of the top brands in the golfing world.
Time after time TaylorMade Golf has shown amazing innovation and brought clubs to market that have completely changed the game including the R9 driver. released in 2009 it was the first driver that
(Read More)The 2012 RBZ fairway wood with its spring-effect trampoline face set the standard for all fairway woods and the same technology can be seen in all fairway woods to this day. The 2013 SLDR driver, although not the most forgiving club to hit, completely changed technology in drivers. By moving the centre of gravity forward and down in the clubhead they were able to massively decrease backspin on drives, which allowed the golfer to launch drivers much higher without them being affected by wind. Without that driver we wouldn’t be seeing the 330-yard bombs from the tour players today.
TaylorMade's latest range of drivers and fairway woods is called SIM2 and is a complete reconstruction of last years incredibly popular SIM range. With a sole that sports an asymmetric shape that offers industry leading aerodynamics and has been proven to increase clubhead speeds the SIM2 has been further improved by the addidtion of their new Forged Ring Technology. This Blue Aluminium Ring is quite striking in its appearance from underneath, but its benefits to the performance of the new range can not be overstated. The Forged Ring construction makes the new SIM2 range by far the most forgiving that TaylorMade have ever produced. The SIM2 range has been universally adopted by the Taylormade Tour Players, which speaks volumes to their quality.
The Sim2 Max driver is the more forgiving of the two heads available but that does not come at the expense of distance with it offering explosive ball speeds across the face. The SIM2 driver is the slightly lower spinning model in a depature from last year's model, the sliding weight bar has been removed. In a world of golf where speed is now King, the Taylormade design team felt that the extra weight added to the clubhead by the weight bar was actually detrimetal to clubhead speed, and distance as a result. Both models are extremely long, great looking and feel superb at impact. The SIM2 Max D offers the same performance as the standard SIM Max but with added draw bias created through internal heel weighting. A great option for the slicers out there!
The SIM2 range of fairway woods is similarly impressive. The SIM2 max fairway woods are aesthetically superb and sit totally square. The 3 wood is available in a standard 15 degree or in the “Rocket” 14-degree version which is a wonderful option for tight tee shots. The fairway woods run up to 7-wood enabling you to find the perfect fit for your bag. The SIM2 fairway woods are constructed from titanium and are the most powerful fairway woods on the market. With a choice of premium shafts, they represent a superb choice for maxing out your distance from the fairway.
